The Sermon …………………………………………………… Matthew 15:21-28

21 Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” 23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” 24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” 27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” 28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

Hymn 250 (V 1 & 3) Will Replace “Glory Be……” (P 17-19)

1 Holy God, we praise Thy name;  Lord of all, we bow before Thee.
All on earth Thy scepter claim,  All in heav’n above adore Thee.
Infinite Thy vast domain,  Everlasting is Thy reign.

3 Lo, th’apostles’ holy train  Join Thy sacred name to hallow;
Prophets swell the glad refrain,  And the white-robed martyrs follow,
And from morn to set of sun  Through the Church the song goes on.

Our Lenten Offering

The Communion Preparation (Isaiah 12)

C: I will praise you, O Lord. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song: He has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. Give thanks to the Lord, call on His Name, make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His Name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things: Let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.

The Distribution Of The Sacrament

(Because God’s Word presents the reception of this Sacrament as a most intimate expression of spiritual and confessional unity, we ask that only those who have publicly professed such oneness of faith and belief with us by membership at Berea or another CLC church come forward. Please speak with pastor if you are seeking a church home or have any questions.)
